Get Some Grub

By Bekka

Before going to the grocery we went out to eat. I tried going to a different grocery for a change. We went around to look where we want to have lunch. We both decided to eat at Manam at SM Aura.

Their branch there is small compared to their other restaurant, but it was fine. We were seated right away. Since I’ve been wanting to eat laing “taro leaves in coconut milk.” Laing is an iconic dish from the Bicol province of the Philippines. We also ordered for Sisig “ is a Filipino dish made from parts of pig head and chicken liver, usually seasoned with calamansi, onions and chili peppers. Sisig was first mentioned in a Kapampangan dictionary in the 17th century meaning “to snack on something sour” and “salad”. Lastly my favorite puto bumbóng, which is “purple rice” cooked inside bamboo tubes. Everything was delicious. Good amount of serving for the price, quality service and the restaurant is well lit.

Even if there are a lot of restaurants serving Filipino dish, I’ll go back to this place in a heartbeat. To good food and good life.
