“We may have our differences, but nothing’s more important than family.” – Coco
They are the people you didn’t choose, but you need to love them anyway and yet you can be sure they will always be there for you no matter what. That is what a family is all about.
Family…It’s the core and foundation of who you are…your being… A strong emotional bond with your family is very important. The true essence of love should be felt within the family.
As you step out of the real world, you will be sure and ready because you hold in your heart the biggest secret of your being…your family’s love and support.
Nowadays, we hear a lot of news about suicide, depression and mental health issues. This is an indication that everybody needs to strengthen the family unit and make it even stronger.
It’s very important to communicate, be open, to listen, to be there in the good and the bad times. You never know, this is what a family member needs and the reassurance that everything will be alright.
The family should always be the safe sanctuary for everyone even if there might be differences in opinions or feelings.
Family matters simply because:
They will be there for you through the high and low times. They might annoy you or you might annoy them but nevertheless, they always stay! Family might disappoint and upset each other, but forgiveness is always inevitable somehow because that what’s family is all about.
They are your no. 1 critic and supporter of you. They can tell you everything on-point. No sugar coating needed. You will hear it from them the way it should be. Trust them if they say so.
They are a big part of all of you including all the moments and memories back memory lane.
No one knows you the way they do. I remember my mom always telling me; I know you too well because I am your mom. She can practically read me like a book.
You can be your most real and authentic self with them. No need to pretend or to put up a façade since they’ve known you since you were born. The best thing for a family is to be never judgemental to each other. They are the people who should accept us unconditionally for who we are.
And most importantly, they love us no matter what. Family is the greatest blessing we received from God. Everything might not always run smoothly but at the end of the day, we should be grateful that we have a family we can always count on.
As for people who have no families near or around them now, be with people that can give you the love and support like a family can. Sometimes, being family is not always being blood related. These are the people who would stick by you through the good and bad times.
As a parting shot, family and love is everything. Treat them well and love them truly because in doing so is a manifestation that you’re indeed grateful and thankful that God gave them to you!
