A Day at St Marc Café MOA

By Kariopes

Recently, I’ve been craving to eat at ChocoCro St. Marc’s Café. It has been awhile since I’ve eaten there; and so when I happen to be at MOA last weekend, I just had to drop by. I think, I may have been the first customer of the day. Haha.

I hadn’t eaten breakfast, and my first order of the day was to stuff my salivating mouth. I asked if they had ChocoCro, but unfortunately, their delivery had not come in yet. With a sad face, I asked the counter lady what they had at present. She mentioned a couple of choices, and I decided to order the Tuna Potato Danish Pastry with the must try, Matcha Latte.

I really loved the pastry. The tuna and potato with the danish just tasted perfectly together. I think it was wonderfully delightful, but alas, you just get one pastry per order. I could really eat a lot of these. The Matcha Latte, on the other hand, was not my cup of tea. The hot drink developed a thin film at the top, which was annoying when you gulp it. Also, there was a bitterness to it that reminded me of eating a not so ripe avocado. I guess it was just not for me.

But this did not discourage me from coming back for seconds. Yup, I came back for merienda for a power boost. I ordered the Choco Banana Split Parfait.

I so, so loved this. The banana just cuts into the sweetness of the chocolate ice cream and the vanilla with the chocolate drizzle. It had a great combination and texture with the cornflakes, sponge cake and custard pudding. It was heavenly.

Now the prices are slightly high in my estimation. But with the quality of most of their menu selections plus the ambience, I can say that it is a well deserved treat. I may not eat here everyday, but will surely visit when the craving arises.
